Kia Canada hits 750,000 sales milestone

MISSISSAUGA, ON – From the Sephia to the Spectra to the Sportage, the Forte, Soul and Rio, Kia has climbed the ladder of sales success, hitting the 750,00 in early September.
Kia Canada celebrated the event when sales staff at Kia of Owen Sound sold a 2017 Sportage to a happy couple, who drove off with the SUV and a bonus: five years of free scheduled maintenance.
Kia Canada has increased its sales from 14,759 in the company’s first full year of sales in 2000 to 67,914 units in the year of 2015, an increase of over 360 per cent.
The automaker chalks up this success to its world-class vehicle designs, product quality and one of Canada’s leading comprehensive warranties.
In 2006, Kia hired automotive designer Peter Schreyer as the brand’s chief design officer.
“At the helm, it is no question that he has elevated the brand’s design to an entirely new level,” the automaker says.
“Kia Canada is delighted to have accomplished this terrific milestone of delivering our 750,000th vehicle in our 17th year of business in Canada,” said Ted Lancaster, V-P and COO, Kia Canada.
“Noting the momentum of our brand and the rate of growth of our business in Canada, we look forward to selling our one millionth vehicle in the coming years.”
