Audi Winnipeg moves into large new facility

WINNIPEG, MAN. – Audi Winnipeg has been built for future growth as the new facility boasts one of the largest automobile showrooms in Western Canada.

The store, which opened for business on Feb. 19, is located at the new Seasons of Tuxedo development in south Winnipeg. At just over 76,000 square feet, the facility is double the size of the former Audi store and can accommodate 12 new vehicles in the showroom.

It has a 10-car service drive thru attached to the showroom, a 14-bay service department and – at over 7,000 square feet – the largest parts department of any Audi dealer in Canada.

Audi Winnipeg general manager Gerald Boiteau said the building follows the brand’s Terminal design language. It includes a second floor where customers can sit at a counter and observe the comings and goings below or outside.

Boiteau offered Canadian AutoWorld a tour of the showroom and noted the different design features including a black curved wall resembling a street, a dedicated Audi Sport area, numerous customer lounge spaces and a kids’ play area complete with refreshments.

There is a second customer lounge upstairs as well and a room where customers will have a platform desk with which to build their own Audi models on a digital screen and view 3D images of the model they build produced in real time.

Bouteau said the new Audi Winnipeg also has a full basement for parking both new and used vehicle overflow inventory as well as customer service vehicles.

The 28,000 square foot basement can house up to 65 cars. The basement area also has six dedicated detail bays and a photo booth area for all incoming vehicles.

Boiteau also said that every vehicle that comes in for servicing would go through the automated car wash before entering the service department – a service that is intended to make it easier to keep the service area clean.

The former Audi showroom will be renovated as part of its incorporation as part of a larger collision centre and St. James Volkswagen dealership, Audi Winnipeg’s sister store with which it formerly shared a building.
