After operating for nine years in Newmarket, Open Road BMW will be renamed Serpa BMW/Serpa BMW Motorrad as Frank Serpa has assumed ownership.

“When an opportunity like this presents itself, it is time to move forward,” Serpa said in a release following the sale. Serpa is the current president and dealer principal of Avante Mazda in Richmond Hill, roughly 15 minutes north of Toronto.

He purchased the Newmarket BMW store from Michael Croxon and Peter Brenzel and noted the store will remain at its current location in the town 45 minutes north of Toronto.

“I have been associated with Mazda, one of the best-engineered Japanese autos, for 17 years and now I am a part of BMW, one of the world's most admired car and motorcycle brands,” he added. “There is nothing like BMW. It occupies the pinnacle of the industry. It is a dream come true.”

Open Road was voted number one for service in Canada two years in a row.
