Chrysler showing off new 200

Chrysler Group LLC has released more images of the 200 mid-sized sedan it is hoping will forge its “own identity” in the highly competitive segment.

A first look at the 2011 Chrysler 200 came in September. Now the automaker is showing off more pictures and information of this updated and redesigned Sebring.

“Virtually every system in the sedan is new or upgraded for 2011,” the company said, noting the exterior upgrades include new front and rear fascias and fenders, a grille featuring the new Chrysler brand winged badge, projector headlamps, fog lamps and LED taillamps along with a LED center high-mounted stop light.

Changes under the hood include a new powertrain lineup featuring the 2.4-liter I-4 World Gas Engine mated to either a four-speed or six-speed automatic transaxle, or the new 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine mated to a six-speed automatic transaxle.

Interior additions reportedly include upgraded materials and a new in instrument panel.
Look for the Chrysler 200 to hit showrooms late this year as a 2011 model in the U.S.
