Construction rolling on Gauthier Autoplex

WINNIPEG, MAN. – Work is underway on the Gauthier Auto group’s new 50,000-square foot Jim Gauthier Autoplex in northwest Winnipeg.

When completed, it will be one the largest body repair/reconditioning centres in the city and represent a substantial investment on behalf of Jim Gauthier and his son, Randy.

The new facility is being built on about 10 acres of land just behind Jim Gauthier Cadillac Buick GMC.

Gauthier called the new Autoplex a testament to both the tremendous growth in business at Jim Gauthier Chevrolet and Jim Gauthier Cadillac Buick GMC as well as the father and son’s faith that new and dramatic growth would occur in the northwest corner of Winipeg.

The first of several thousand new homes and apartments are already taking shape in the area and several new big box stores are said to be in the planning stages.

“We are really squeezed for space,” says Jason Cross, vice-president at Jim Gauthier Cadillac Buick GMC.

“The new building will give us a lot more room to store our ever expanding inventory.”

He notes that the Autoplex collision centre will have all new state-of-the-art equipment and will be operated in a modular pattern to ensure the most efficient workplace flow through.

The building will also house Jim Gauthier Cadillac Buick GMC and Jim Gauthier Chevrolet’s corporate offices, PDI operations and a Budget Rent-A-Car franchise.

“We will also be able to provide estimates on behalf of Manitoba Public Insurance,” Cross says.

The new Autoplex is expected to be completed and open for business by next June or July.
