Great turnout for TADA golf tournament

After enduring oppressive heat at last year’s event, participants in the Trillium Automobile Dealers’ Association annual golf tournament were blessed with fantastic weather this week with dealers and suppliers all getting into the swing of things.

Held at Rattlesnake Point Golf Club in Milton, Ontario, the double 18-hole tournament was another success for the TADA.

“We couldn’t have asked for better weather,” said TADA rep Ken Shaw Jr. following the round.

As in years past, the event featured an 18-hole best ball scramble on one course and an 18-hole play-your-own-ball tournament on the other course. The winner of the individual competition was Chris Stickley, who fired a three-under gross score of 69 on the tough Sidewinder course.

Henry Hoang won the net handicap competition.

The team event was won by the threesome of John Nickleford of Pickering Honda; Ken Gyles of Scarborough Mazda; and Steve Didycz from the Toronto Sun who managed a score of 60.

The Canadian AutoWorld team performed well but faded down the stretch shooting a five under 67 on the Copperhead course.

If you didn’t manage to secure a spot in this year’s tournament, Michelle Kearney, marketing manager for the TADA, wanted to remind everyone the association will be hosting its Trillium North annual golf tournament on September 12 at Muskoka Bay Golf Club in Gravenhurst, Ontario.
