New location for Performance Hyundai

Executives, dealership staff and a bevy of happy Hyundai customers gathered in St. Catharines, Ont. last night to celebrate the relocation and grand opening of Hyundai Canada’s latest dealership.

“This facility is the culmination of vision, leadership and entrepreneurial drive,” Hyundai Auto Canada president Steve Kelleher told the crowd, adding that it sets the standard now for the entire country.

The new facility is owned and operated by PerformanceCars, a southern Ontario-based dealer group. Prior to moving to this new facility, Performance Hyundai was run out of a three-car showroom and saddled with a terrible location behind another dealership in the group’s auto park a short distance away.

Now the dealership has a prime spot along a busy stretch of Ontario St. in St. Catharines, something V-P and general manager Rein Knol could not be happier about.

After unveiling the Hyundai Equus – Performance Hyundai being named one of only 27 Canadian dealers to sell the new luxury model – and following a brief walkaround by new car sales manager Raymond Blais, PerformanceCars president David Reilly spoke about the team’s commitment to excellence.

Before St. Catharines mayor Brian McMullan helped cut the ribbon, Kelleher said a few words and then presented Knol and Reilly Hyundai Auto Canada’s President Award of Merit for the second year in a row.
