LONDON, ON – Pfaff Automotive Partners and Leavens Volkswagen have teamed up for the creation and launch of Ontario’s newest and London’s first Porsche franchise.

The dealership, serving the London, Kitchener-Waterloo, Cambridge, Sarnia, Chatham and Windsor population, sits at 600 Oxford Street West at the corner of Wonderland Road.

Renovations on the existing building have already commenced and are expected to be complete by spring 2011. In the meantime, Porsche of London will be fully operational for sales and service from a secondary building on the property.

The new store came out of a partnership between Pfaff Automotive Partners and Leavens Volkswagen. The dealers will assume operations of the new shop.

“London is the hub of Southwestern Ontario and as an ever-growing metropolis with great economic activity, the city has long awaited the presence of a high-end dealer such as Porsche,” said Christopher Leavens, dealer principal, Leavens Volkswagen.

“The London automotive landscape is now complete.”

Leavens will lead the operations in the day-to-day development and management of the dealership.

As one of the leading Porsche dealers in Canada for more than 45 years, Pfaff will leverage its experience and longstanding relationship with Porsche Cars Canada to play an integral role in the expansion into the Southwestern Ontario market.

“Pfaff's particular involvement in the Porsche of London franchise will provide the backbone through their Porsche expertise and passion that Pfaff is known for,” the group said in a release.

Porsche Cars Canada selected London as one of two markets to launch dealerships across the country this year. Other Ontario markets were considered but London presented the best opportunity as the central hub of economic activity within the Southwestern Ontario region.
