OpenRoad celebrates another grand opening with summer bash
VANCOUVER. B.C. – If there is one dealership group that sets the standard for grand opening parties in Canada, it is most definitely OpenRoad Auto Group.
The West Coast-company has had a slew of capital projects reach completion over the last 12 months including grand openings for OpenRoad Audi Boundary, OpenRoad Exotics and Langley Rand Rover Jaguar.
Adding to the growing list of soirees was the summer bash held last week to commemorate the opening of OpenRoad VW, Western Canada’s largest VW dealership.
The party came complete with all the usual trimmings – fine food, executive cameos and loads of excited customers. What gave this party an archetypal West Coast vibe was the beach theme complete with an outdoor beach volleyball court and gourmet BBQ.
“We wanted our grand opening to be a fun evening that was reminiscent of vintage VW beach culture but with a definite modern, West Coast vibe,” said Ben Lovie, general manager at OpenRoad VW.
“I think our guests had a fantastic time and we look forward to holding many similar events for our customers and VW fans in the future.”
The 45,000-square foot facility first opened in May and is the region’s largest VW dealership.
The store is home of the very first VW Beetle to land in Canada in 1952, where it is currently on display. Upon entering the new dealership, guests are greeted by a large scale digital “Welcome Wall” that is the first in a VW dealership in Canada.
The wall displays messages in various languages, along with an array of VW images, video and promotional information.
The service area boasts 18 service bays, a detail centre, automated car wash and modern customer lounge.
Unique OpenRoad VW services include solo test drive days, OpenRoad house calls, a service valet, free car washes and free equipment rentals of items like bicycles, ski racks and carseats.
Costs for the project were not revealed.
Helping open the store was company president Christian Chia and Volkswagen Canada chief Maria Stenstrom.
OpenRoad Auto Group is B.C.’s largest automotive dealership group. It retails 14 brands at 18 full-service car dealerships.
