LOS ANGELES, CALIF. – An ambitious new dealership project in Los Angeles just might just set the new standard for dealers in major metro markets.

Joe Shuster, president and owner of Honda of Downtown Los Angeles, has revealed his plan for a new $30-million project in what is becoming the hot new western downtown neighbourhood of LA.

The previously vacant one-acre site will be home to the five-storey, 210,000-square foot facility. The first level will house indoor customer parking, the new car showroom and administrative areas. The second floor will house business offices, the customer lounge and additional parking. The top three floors will be operations and inventory areas with additional rooftop parking for inventory. Honda of Downtown Los Angeles is now one of the top ten highest volume Honda dealers in North America selling over 500 new and used vehicles per month. Its current dealership located at 1540 S Figueroa Street will continue to serve customers through the opening. This new vertical, next-generation concept will drive Honda of Downtown Los Angeles’ long-term growth strategy and its plan to be the No. 1 Honda dealer in America.

Construction will began this week with an anticipated completion date in Summer 2018.

“Purchasing a new car is often a multi-generational family experience for our customers, so we wanted to create a state-of-the-art facility that accommodates and appeals to everyone,” said Shuster.

In addition to the exterior green screens, which optimize energy use by providing natural cooling, the building’s exterior will include 10,000 square feet of perforated aluminum panels that absorb reflected light creating an architecturally futuristic feature.

Two oversized plasma video screens will show ads and community happenings. Solar panels will also be installed on the roof to increase energy efficiency.
