KELOWNA, B.C. – Vaughn Wyant is adding to his portfolio with the addition of a new Porsche point in Kelowna, B.C., his second store for the luxury line.

The Wyant Group officially broke ground this week on the new home of Porsche Centre Kelowna. According to local media, the store will be a 23,000-square-foot facility boasting 10 service bays.

The Kelowna Daily Courier reported it would sit at Finns Road and Stremel Road, just off Highway 97 and next to a Ford dealership.

“It’s a business opportunity that is synergistic to what we are doing,” Wyant told the paper, noting it makes sense in terms of geography, human resources and familiarity with the brand as the group owns and operates Porsche Saskatoon.

Financial details on the build were not disclosed, but executives confirmed they hope to have the dealership open by April 1 next year.

Wyant Group, formerly known as VWAG, started with the purchase of Jubilee Ford in Saskatoon, in 1983.

The company has since expanded to 14 stores across Saskatchewan and the B.C. interior. The group now retails Jaguar, Land Rover, Volvo, Mitsubishi, Mercedes-Benz, Hyundai, Audi and Porsche.
