Sudbury dealer fondly remembered

SUDBURY, ONT. – The northern Ontario dealership community has lost one of its pioneers as Ron Scagnetti died peacefully at his home on Dec. 10.
The former dealer was 80 years old.
Local media reports the Scagnetti family has been doing business in the Sudbury region for 100 years. Ron had spent more than 60 years in automotive and was best known as a co-founder of Mid-North Motors.
The dealership was one of the largest General Motors points in the province before being caught up in the automaker’s bankruptcy restructuring in 2009. Ron and his team pivoted the operation and rebranded as Mid-North Mitsubishi.
The family has asked that any donations be made to the NCF Cancer Centre.
