Sym-Tech has launched a new scholarship for the Canadian Automotive Institute at Georgian College in Barrie, Ontario.

The Sym-Tech Automotive Award will be presented to a student enrolled in their second year of the Business Administration – Automotive Marketing/Automotive Business program who meets all the eligibility criteria for the award.

The recipient will also be eligible for a co-op placement at Sym-Tech.

“The goal of our scholarship is to assist in education and training for continuous improvement in the automotive industry”, said Brad Gibson, president and COO of Sym-Tech.

This announcement comes on the heels of Sym-Tech’s recent launch of the Sym-Tech Learning Centre created in collaboration with JM&A Group.

“Our commitment to continuous learning is a long-term vision,” Gibson said.

“The Sym-Tech Learning Centre will focus on increasing revenue in the F&I Office by providing support and training for the existing business managers of our partner dealers. But we wanted to take it one step further and support the education of the new recruits that will be coming into the dealerships in the future.”

Gibson said Sym-Tech chose Georgian College because of its dedication to educating students to the highest academic standards specifically for the automotive industry.

“Dealers told us that they need help with training and development of their people. We are making a commitment to our partner dealers and we take that very seriously.”
