TORONTO, ONT. – Tesla Motors has announced its first Canadian store will be built inside Toronto’s Yorkdale Shopping Centre.
The upscale mall, located in the north end of Toronto, is in the midst of a $185 million, 145,000-square foot retail expansion of which Tesla will be a part of.
The new shopping space is scheduled to open on November 15.
This announcement comes after the electric automaker launched its “pop-up store” promotion in Canada in June. The tour hit malls in Montreal, Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver and featured the company's Model S sedan.
Tesla’s Canadian director of sales Hans Ulsrud told Canadian AutoWorld at the time that plans were in the works for a retail location in a shopping mall in the Greater Toronto Area.
There is no word on the cost of the Tesla store. All of the companies worldwide retail locations are corporately owned.
