Toyota confirms plans for Scion Canada's second phase

Scion Canada confirmed its plans to expand market presence next spring with the addition of 40 new Scion dealers in 30 more Canadian markets.

This second phase of Scion’s launch plan will compliment the initial 45 dealers in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver that began selling Toyota’s new line of youth-oriented vehicles at the end of September.

“Scion continues to explore market opportunities across Canada and looks forward to identifying candidates for expansion in even more markets,” the company said in a release.

The move also coincides with the addition of the subcompact Scion iQ to the trio of current models.

After a little less that month on the market, Toyota calls the response from Canadians “tremendous,” noting how 70 per cent of all inquires have come from its key “male under 35” target market.
