Hoping it is two-times lucky, the Volvo Group put the 2016 S60 and V60 Polestar sports cars up for sale online.
“The digital commerce initiative has brought great success globally and generated a lot of interest in the Canadian market,” says Marc Engelen, president and CEO of Volvo Cars of Canada.
“With the success of the XC90 First Editions, and the interest the Canadian market has in the Polestar product, we believe our second digital commerce will also see a great response from consumers.”
Canadian buyers lined up to put down payments on the limited edition of the XC90 in September 2014. The automaker says the redesigned SUVs sold out in 47 hours.
Volvo Cars of Canada put the 2016 S60 and V60 Polestars on sale online June 16 at 9:00 a.m.
“We are delighted to become a part of the digital development of Volvo, enabling us together to reach an even wider group of performance-minded Volvo customers,” says Christian Dahl, CEO of Polestar Performance, whose company produces limited-edition performance models for Volvo.
Due to increasing customer demand, the S60 & V60 Polestar sale has expanded from eight to 13 countries in 2015. Only 750 cars will be on sale globally.
The Canadian market will again receive a limited number in 2015; the units will be available in Rebel Blue and Ice White.
Sticker price is about $60,000.
