Honda Canada announced that is has begun manufacturing of its new 2022 Honda Civic Sedan at Honda of Canada Mfg. (HCM) in Alliston, Ontario.
The 2022 Honda Civic Sedan is expected to hit Canadian dealership lots this summer.
According to Honda, the Civic has been its best-selling passenger car in Canada for 23 years, and this new 11th-generation Civic looks to continue that tradition. This new Civic will showcase the renewed focus on what the automaker calls its core design philosophy of “Man Maximum/Machine Minimum”. Drivers will see this design philosophy in the Civic’s updated exterior design and its simple and clean interior design that is made to maximize cabin space while minimizing the space required for mechanical components.
“What we have accomplished with the Honda Civic, is taking it to a higher level of sophistication,” said Clement D’Souza, senior vice-president of HCM. “We’ve created this clean and modern look by using new and first-time Civic technologies, which resulted in the most technologically advanced Civic ever, with a refined and innovative design.”
Other highlights divers will experience is a more rigid body design for greater safety while at the same time reducing weight to improve fuel efficiency, a laser-brazed roof that seamlessly joins to the body side panels for a cleaner exterior appearance, an instrument panel that reduces visual clutter, and under the hood a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder engine which produces 158hp @6,500 r.p.m. and 138 lb-ft of torque @ 4,200 r.p.m.
