Art Installation At OpenRoad Toyota Richmond

A massive art installation at OpenRoad Toyota Richmond is revving up the walls at Canada’s largest new Toyota dealership.
The dynamic, large-scale mural by Chairman Ting, an award-winning Vancouver-based studio, artistically embodies the essence and iconic history of the Toyota brand.
“We wanted to showcase a bold art installation befitting of the impressive scale of our new Toyota dealership, which is now the largest in Canada,” said Dimitri Kotsalis, vice-president, regional operations of OpenRoad Auto Group. “We were thrilled to collaborate with the Chairman Ting team. They masterfully executed our vision for a powerful artistic representation of Toyota that features one of our most iconic models, the Toyota Supra.”
Measuring 63 x 13 feet and spanning three walls, the hand-painted mural by Carson Ting and Chairman Ting artist, Mark Illing, features an urban display of the power and energy of Toyota Motorsports and the legendary Toyota Supra. The red sportscar is shown at high speed, crashing through iron chains while leaving dust and fluttering cherry blossoms in its wake. The dynamic 3D mural gives an artistic nod to Toyota’s rich history in motorsports, with subtle references to Japan where Toyota is headquartered.
Chairman Ting is a Vancouver-based art and design studio founded by Carson Ting in 2012. The studio has been commissioned for illustration and design projects for major global brands, including Microsoft, Nike, Mercedes-Benz Daimler AG, adidas Originals, AT&T, The NHL, and Red Bull Canada.
