What’s in a name? Apparently not much for Spyker Cars N.V. after the automaker and Saab owner will officially change its name to Swedish Automobile N.V. as of June 15.

The move has been made following a decision at the annual general meeting back in May.

On Wednesday, the company shall be listed under its new handle with its ticker symbol changing to SWAN.

A brief release on the company website does not offer much of an explanation for the name change.

Aside from the new name, the group is also celebrating its continued existence after Spyker agreed to sell a nearly 30 per cent state in Saab to China’s Zhejiang Youngman Lotus Automobile Co. for $191 million CAN.
