Canadian Black Book Team Puts On The Work Boots To Give Back With Habitat For Humanity

A team from Canadian Black Book head office took a day out of the office to get to work building homes with Habitat for Humanity.  The team left their laptops, devices, and comfy office chairs to pick up some tools and materials on a HFH build site in Mississauga to help build homes for local families.

“The Canadian Black Book team is a family.  That is a major reason why we collectively feel strongly about the importance of giving back and helping families that need it,” said Brad Rome, president at Canadian Black Book.

The eight-team members spent the day at the build site on Merritt Ave in Mississauga, Ontario.  Throughout the day tasks included general construction, moving materials, safety watches, site cleaning and more.

“It was hard work, that was a tough day, and I sure learned a lot.  But the satisfaction of knowing the end game really provides the encouragement. I think we all enjoyed ourselves and feel good about the contribution,” said Richard Phillips, vice-president, business development and marketing at Canadian Black Book.

Habitat for Humanity build days provide the perfect environment for team building, while delivering safe, sound, and affordable places to live for deserving families. The build day also proved to be a valuable lesson to the much of the CBB team, in terms of learning about construction and associated trades.
