Durham Children’s Foundation To Raise Funds Auctioning Unique Corvettes

Want to get your hands on one of the last 7th generation Corvettes or one of the first 8th generation Corvette Stingray? And to help a good cause?
Now is your chance.
General Motors of Canada and Chevrolet have donated one of the last 7th generation Corvettes and the first 8th generation all-new, mid-engine Corvette Stingray to the Durham Children’s Aid Foundation for an auction to raise funds for ‘Sharon’s Kids’.
Online bidding began on October 21 and will continue to October 28 at www.chevrolet.ca/CorvettesForKids.
‘Sharon’s Kids’ started more than 51 years ago by Sharon Clark, a General Motors employee who along with her fellow co-workers adopted a local family through the Durham Children’s Aid Foundation. The funds they raised helped provide local single mothers with a nine-month old child with a food hamper and gifts for Christmas. The tradition continues to this day through ‘Sharon’s Kids’ and with the continuing support of General Motors and its employees.
“At GM Canada, we’re proud to support the communities in which we live and work and that’s why we’re donating the last 7th Generation and first 8th Generation Chevrolet Corvettes built for Canada to the Durham Children’s Aid Foundation in honour of ‘Sharon’s Kids’, a charity that’s been part of our history for over fifty years,” said Scott Bell, president and managing director, GM Canada. “Sharon Clark touched the lives of everyone she met and was admired for her dedication and passion in giving back to our communities.”
“We are beyond thrilled that GM is continuing to support ‘Sharon’s Kids’ with this donation,” said Leslie McLean, manager signature programs, Durham Children’s Aid Foundation. “GM’s assistance continues to give much needed support to Durham’s most vulnerable children and youth.”
