Esso goes Top Tier across the board
Imperial Oil says that all grades of its Esso-branded gasoline now carry the Top Tier certification.
The Top Tier Detergent Gasoline program was developed by a slew of automakers including General Motors, BMW, Honda, Toyota, Volkswagen and Audi to recognize fuels that meet standards for cleaning agents to control engine deposits.
“Imperial has always been a leader in the Canadian fuel industry and product quality of Esso-branded fuels is at the heart of our business,” said Simon Smith, vice-president and general manager of fuels marketing.
“Now our valued Esso customers have the added assurance of Top Tier certification.”
All grades of Esso-branded gasoline, including Esso Regular, Esso Extra and Esso Supreme, have long contained cleaning agents that exceed government standards, the company said.
