Hyundai Announces Global EV Battery Recall: Bloomberg

Bloomberg News is reporting that Hyundai Motor Company has announced a global recall of some 82,000 electric vehicles after the South Korean government said it has found defects in some of the vehicles’ battery cells.

According to the news report published, the recall will impact the automaker’s Kona crossover and the Ioniq compact car, along with Elec City buses. Bloomberg added that the replacement of the battery systems could cost near $899 million.
