Jamie Gordon Appointed Director, National Sales and Business Development with BMO Retail Auto Finance

The BMO Retail Auto Finance Team has added more depth to its leadership team, appointing Jamie Gordon to a newly created Director, National Sales and Business Development role. Jamie has over 18 years of automotive experience, across a broad range of leadership, consulting, sales and operations roles. Since joining BMO in March 2017, Jamie has proven to be a strong leader and effective strategist most recently in his role as the Director of Strategic Initiatives for Auto Finance. In that role, Jamie worked closely with Paul Hunsley (Head, Retail Auto Finance) on a number of strategic projects, most notably the repositioning of sales teams during the pandemic.
“COVID has forced every sales organization to rethink how they go-to-market, and we needed to act quickly in order to provide the tools and training required for our sales teams to stay close to our Dealers in a virtual environment. It was a massive shift in our daily operations and we’re very proud of how our Business Development Managers were able to adapt to the new model and perform exceptionally well in 2021,” said Jamie Gordon (Director, National Sales and Business Development, Retail Auto Finance, BMO Bank of Montreal).
Jamie will be reporting directly into Paul Hunsley, with a mandate to lead the Retail sales and business development strategy as he and Paul move forward with a defined plan to continuously improve the Dealer experience and strengthen their relationships from coast-to-coast.
“We are fortunate to have a team of very experienced, passionate and talented individuals who are motivated to support our Dealers and provide a consultative approach to their business. BMO’s Purpose is to Boldly Grow the Good in business and life and I look forward building on that commitment in our sales team,” continued Jamie.
The addition of this new role strengthens the leadership team and compliments other organizational changes that have been made in the Client Support Centers. BMO’s Retail Automotive Finance team remains focused on continued investment in technologies that will streamline its business model —simplifying and enhancing the client experience for Dealers. Product development, enhancements and improved communications will be something to watch for over the coming year as the team continues to focus on the important relationships with their dealer partners.
“It is often said that our people are our greatest asset, and with Jamie’s experience and strategic mindset I am confident we will accelerate on our strategic plans and bring exciting key initiatives to market in 2022,” concluded Paul Hunsley (Head, Retail Auto Finance, BMO Bank of Montreal).
