Lexus offers sneak peek at new crossover

Lexus has released the first official image of its new urban compact crossover, Lexus UX.

The vehicle, set to make its global debut at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show on Mar. 6, marks yet another entry into the already crowded luxury SUV segment.

“Its crossover credentials are signaled by its muscular wings and haunches and high beltline, but under the skin an all-new platform gives the UX exceptional body rigidity and a low centre of gravity for the agile handling of a hatchback,” the automaker wrote in a release.

The vehicle first appeared as a concept at the 2016 Paris Motor Show and was said to offer a vision for the compact SUV of the future. It was designed at the brand’s design centre in the South of France.

Lexus said the intention with the new model was to attract a wider group of new, younger and connected urban customers to the brand.

There is no word on pricing or availability in this market.
