Manheim called the appointment part of its “ongoing commitment to serve the unique needs of the Canadian market.

“We’re excited to have the experience and strong leadership of Danny on our Canadian team,” said Mike McKinney, regional V-P of operations, East.

“Danny’s wealth of knowledge about the market and auction operations along with his dealer background, bring a great perspective as we continue to develop products and bring new tools to the Canadian marketplace.”

In this role, Fayad will lead both the commercial and dealer account teams with a focus on providing solutions to improve the customer experience.

His team will continue Manheim’s ongoing efforts to understand customer needs and to create solutions, watch market trends, and track industry updates.

“This is a great opportunity to help build new solutions for both buyers and sellers in Canada,” Fayad said.

“Having local market expertise and being backed by the resources of the worlds’ largest auto remarketer provides a unique advantage, and allows me to drive results for our customers.”

Manheim said he brings more than 30 years of experience in the automotive industry and valuable insight into dealer needs, including a career “rich” in both wholesale and retail operations.

The new hire’s accomplishments include building a state-of-the-art auction in Edmonton, partnering with Manheim to make Manheim Edmonton and Source Auto Auction, the company’s first venture into western Canada.

His resume includes being the executive director of used vehicle operations of the Priestner Group, also known as Go Auto, one of the largest automotive groups in western Canada.

There, he was responsible for expanding the profitability of the group’s wholesale used car departments.

Manheim said he also has an “extensive background in cross-border trading and the brokerage business and brings valuable first-hand knowledge of the used dealer business.”

Fayad previously owned and operated an independent used vehicle store. In addition, he was owner and manager of Trail Boss Inc., a customer-service based ATV rental company located in the heart of Alberta.

He also has experience in the oil and gas industry.

Fayad will report to McKinney.
