MINI Canada announced that the 2020 MINI SE 3 door, MINI’s first all-electric vehicle, will arrive in Canada in March 2020 with a base MSRP of $39,990.

This MSRP makes the 2020 MINI SE 3 door eligible for the Canadian Federal iZEV rebate of $5,000, in addition to separate Canadian Provincial BEV purchase incentives (Quebec – $8.000/British Columbia – $3,000).

Powered by an electric motor with an output of 184 horsepower, and an instantly-available torque of 199 ft-lb, the MINI Cooper SE 3 door exhibits characteristic MINI performance, sprinting from 0–100 km/h in 7.3 seconds.

Developed by the BMW Group competence centres for electromobility in Dingolfing and Landshut, the 93 ampere/hr lithium-ion high voltage battery, with a gross energy capacity of 32.6 kWh, is mounted in the floor of the SE, making for an exceptionally low center-of-gravity, ensuring typical MINI agility and renowned go-kart handling.

The new MINI Cooper SE 3 door is the first electrically powered BMW Group model in which the driver can influence the level of brake energy regeneration. A toggle switch positioned to the left of the start/stop unit provides the choice of intense or only low-level regeneration, regardless of the MINI Driving Modes.
