LOS ANGELES, CALIF. – Porsche had heads turning at the opening day of the LA Auto Show Wednesday with the world debut of its first compact SUV, Macan.
Two versions will be offered when it arrives in Canadian dealerships this spring. Macan S has 340 hp twin turbo 3.0-litre V6 and will have a starting price of $54,300. Macan Turbo, boasting a twin turbo 3.6-litre V6 with 400 hp, will start at $82,200.

The Macan Turbo lowers the 0-100 km/h time to 4.8 seconds with an expected fuel rating around 9.2L/100 km.
Both feature a start/stop system to conserve gasoline. Its all-wheel drive system is centred on a constantly driven rear axle.
There is also and off-road mode that is standard in the Macan and can be activated by pressing a button in the centre console at speeds up to 80 km/h.
Available drive assistance features include lane departure warning and lane change assist system while Active Cruise Control (ACC) with Porsche Active Safe (PAS) supports the driver by preconditioning the braking system should an impending hazard situation be detected.
