Romano out as Mazda Canada president

Mazda Motor Corporation says Shusuke Koreeda has been named interim president of Mazda Canada Inc. (MCI), effective immediately.
A 32-year veteran of Mazda, Koreeda most recently held the role of executive vice president of MCI. He succeeds Don Romano, who Mazda says has elected to leave the company effective July 3.
Koreeda has served in a variety of executive positions in Japan and with Mazda North American Operations in the U.S.
In making the announcement, Masahiro Moro, executive officer of global sales and marketing, said Koreeda brings a wealth of North American experience to his new role.
“I'm confident that his leadership will guide our Canadian team to even greater success.”
Prior to joining MCI in 2011, Koreeda was general manager of global marketing responsible for all marketing matters globally for Mazda.
From 2003 to 2009, he served in a variety of executive positions at MNAO. His appointment is expected to be approved at Mazda Motor Corporation later this month.
