VANCOUVER - The Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC) awarded Kia Canada the trophy for being the vehicle that “for its size and purpose, provides the Canadian consumer with environmentally friendly returns that compare favourable with other vehicles in its class.”

The competition took place at AJAC’s Test Fest held in autumn 2014.

“Kia Canada is honoured to receive the Green Car of the Year award as selected by the voting AJAC membership,” said Maria Soklis, V-P/COO, Kia Canada Inc. “Class leading range and ample utility without compromise is a key advantage that the Soul EV offers to Canadians.”

Soklis was speaking at Green Car of the Year Award event during the opening ceremonies of press day March 24 at the Vancouver International Auto Show.

This is the second AJAC award that the Soul EV has won since its launch in the Canadian market late last year.

In December, AJAC presented Kia Canada with the AJAC Car of the Year category award winner for “Best New City Car.”

The Soul has won consecutive awards including the AJAC’s “Best New Family Car (Under $30,000)” in 2014.

The EV version of the Soul starts at $34,995.
