Toyota Prius testing program with Ontario about to get off ground

Toyota Canada is kicking off its year-long “real-world” testing of its Prius plug-in hybrid (PHV) tomorrow in partnership with the Ontario Ministries for Transportation and Energy, along with the Ontario Power Generation and the City of Toronto.
Starting Tuesday and continuing for the next 12 months, the Ontario partners will share their Prius PHV, which will be fitted with telematics equipment to record vehicle and hybrid system performance.
The automaker says this feedback will deliver “critical technical and consumer acceptance feedback of the Prius PHV, unique to the Canadian market.”
Expected to attend tomorrow’s event at Toyota Canada Inc.’s head office in Scarborough are a number of government representatives including Joe Pantalone, deputy mayor, City of Toronto and Yoichi Tomihara, president, Toyota Canada Inc.
