Volvo Canada announces new CFO

Just a few months after adding a new president, a new director of dealer network development and giving everybody a new office from which to work, Volvo Canada has named Matt Girgis its new chief financial officer.

Girgis will join the ranks of Volvo Canada at the new head office in Richmond Hill starting June 24.

According to the automaker, he will work to further strengthen the executive management team in Canada by implementing specific financial plans and analysis parameters in line with Canadian policies.

He will also oversee accounting and administration duties while executing corporate development to ensure long-term growth strategies are met.

“We are happy to welcome Matt to the Volvo family along with his wealth of experience in the industry,” says Marc Engelen, president and CEO Volvo Cars of Canada Corp. “I look forward to working collaboratively with him to develop a sustainable growth plan for Volvo in Canada.”

Prior to this new position, Girgis worked in various roles with BMW and Volvo Canada.
