Volvo Car Canada’s car subscription service, Care By Volvo, is officially underway with its first drivers taking to the road.
One of the first Canadian customers, Randy Guenthner and Gigi Lee, now hold the keys to their Volvo subscription: the Volvo V60 R-Design, after picking it up at Volvo of Toronto.
Care By Volvo allows customers to do everything online, including ordering their Volvo in under 10 minutes, scheduling winter tire installation and storage, requesting 24/7 roadside assistance, coordinating the delivery of their car through their local Volvo retailer, and upgrading to a new luxury vehicle every 12 or 24 months.
“I use my phone to shop for lots of things and think it’s great that I can now subscribe to a car through my phone, too,” said Randy Guenthner. “The subscription process was fast and easy, and it’s nice not to have to worry about the details and extra costs because everything’s included. I can’t wait to get on the road.”
According to a 2018 study conducted by Volvo Car Canada, 73 per cent of Canadians see the benefit of car subscription services, a number that is fairly consistent across demographic groups. Here are the top four benefits of a vehicle subscription service, as ranked by the study’s respondents:
- Maintenance being included with the vehicle
- Ability to change the vehicle after 12 months
- Streamlined buying process
- The ability to manage the process from their phone
“We know that in today’s world, people crave convenience,” explained Alexander Lvovich, managing director, Volvo Car Canada Ltd. “Current trends show that a growing number of Canadians expect a shopping process based on efficiency. That’s what we’re providing to Canadians — a simple approach to luxury car ownership.”
