Hyundai Auto Canada says the MSRP for the all-new 2011 Hyundai Elantra will remain unchanged from 2010 while the Elantra Limited will actually drop in price.
The model, which has seen a complete redesign and approximately $1,900 in extra features and equipment added, will remain steady at $15,849.
For the top-of-the-line Elantra Limited, the suggested retail price has been reduced by $1,100 to $22,699 while more than $1,400 in features and equipment has been added.
“Hyundai has always been about delivering value to customers,” said John Vernile, vice president of marketing at Hyundai Canada.
“With the all-new Elantra, we worked hard to protect that position while at the same time delivering a vehicle with our new design language and best-in-class fuel efficiency. It’s a complete package our competitors are going to have a hard time matching.”
For 2011, Hyundai added a long list of standard equipment to all Elantra vehicles, including six airbags, Vehicle Stability Management system with Traction Control, four wheel disc brakes with ABS, 6-speed transmissions, power windows and a 6-speaker audio system. The Elantra also has a number of new features available such as heated rear seats, 7-inch navigation, rear-view camera and proximity entry with electric push button start.
Elantra also delivers “class-leading” fuel economy ratings 6.8 L/100 km in the city and 4.9 L/100 km on the highway for 6-speed manual models.
Opting for the available 6-speed automatic adds only 0.1 L/100 km to Elantra’s city fuel consumption. Unlike some competitors in the segment that offer maximum fuel efficiency only in a limited number of trims, all models in the Elantra range offer the same fuel economy.
