Hyundai Auto Canada Corp. revealed an artist’s rendering of the upcoming third-generation Santa Fe in advance of its debut at the New York International Auto Show this April.
Santa Fe is one of Hyundai’s most successful nameplates with cumulative sales of approximately 2.56 million units worldwide since the vehicle’s introduction in 2000, including more than 170,000 in Canada.
Based on Hyundai’s Fluidic Sculpture design philosophy, the new Santa Fe adopts a unique design concept dubbed Storm Edge. The automaker says the new styling cues are intended to channel the “strong, dynamic images” created by nature during the formation of a storm.
Hyundai says the redesigned SUV will come with a number of technologies, good fuel economy and something it terms as “exceptional practicality.”
The 2013 Santa Fe is set to be unveiled on April 4 during Hyundai’s press conference at the New York International Auto Show.
