Hyundai ups MSRP on 2012 Genesis

Hyundai Auto Canada Corp. says its “refreshed” 2012 Genesis will carry a manufacturer’s suggested retail price starting from $39,999.

There is also an additional model available called the R-Spec. The new trim comes equipped with Hyundai’s 429 horsepower Tau 5.0-litre GDI V8 replacing the 2011 model’s 385 horsepower 4.6-litre V8.

The R-Spec model hits the top end of the price point at $53,499.

All 2012 Genesis models are equipped with Hyundai’s new 8-speed automatic transmission as standard equipment. For added security, a Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS) is now available.
 
Additional technology and safety features include eight airbags, Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), leather seating and proximity keyless entry with push-button start.

This MSRP marks a slight increase over the 2011 Genesis, which priced between $38,999 and $49,999.
