National Car Rental announced April 8 that it would offer its customers exclusive access to the 2015 Nissan Murano.
This partnership with Nissan Canada will bring Nissan Muranos to National Car Rental locations across Canada beginning April 2015.
“National focuses on providing new products and technologies that offer unsurpassed choice and control to our frequent traveller customers,” said Rob Connors, assistant vice-president of marketing for National Car Rental.
“By offering exclusive car rental rights to the new 2015 Nissan Murano, our customers benefit from exclusive access to a great driving experience, while our manufacturing partner benefits from exposure to an audience predisposed to a premium vehicle.”
Connors went on to say National chose the Nissan Murano, introduced in 2002 as one of the first crossover vehicles in North America, because the Murano has continued to redefine the crossover segment.
National customers driving the 2015 Nissan Murano SV AWD will experience comfort, luxury and advanced technology with the vehicle’s voice-activated navigation, eight-inch, multi-touch control color screen, rear-view monitor, heated seats and steering wheel, remote engine start, Dual Zone Automatic, temperature control, and a power lift gate, he said.
“National Car Rental customers are looking for the latest in technology and design, which makes the Nissan Murano a natural fit to add to its vehicle line-up,” said Brent Smith, chief marketing manager crossovers for Nissan Canada Inc.
“Our program with National will help build awareness of the Murano through exposing consumers to the concept car styling and social lounge interior of the all-new 2015 model.”
Each vehicle will feature a QR code decal as part of the OnRamp renter engagement campaign. Scanning the QR code with a smartphone launches a mobile-optimized site where customers can learn more about the Murano, find a local Nissan dealer if they are interested in buying a similar car, and more.
The QR codes are placed on key tags as well as on the driver-side window of all vehicles, making vehicle information accessible to more than just the occupants.
Paul Belfer, National’s vice-president of vehicle acquisition for National, told Canadian AutoWorld the Muranos will be available at the rental company until the summer’s end.
“The Murano is an exciting addition to the rental fleet and gives our renters the opportunity to experience an extended test drive of this innovative product,” he said.
Belfer left open the possibility of further programs with Nissan.
