Nissan says its new longer warranty on the 2015 NV 200 Compact Cargo van proves its confidence in the quality of the product.

The automaker announced it was increasing the basic limited warranty coverage from three years/60,000 kilometres to five years/160,000 kilometres or whichever comes first.

The powertrain limited warranty has also been extended from five years/100,000 kilometres to five years/160,000 kilometres, whichever comes first.

“While we’re relatively new to the world of commercial vehicles in Canada, we’ve already proven our mettle with vehicles that endure harsh conditions that passenger cars will never see,” said Steven Rhind, director of marketing at Nissan Canada Inc.

Nissan has been selling commercial vehicles in Canada since spring 2011 with the introduction of the NV Cargo and NV Passenger vans. The NV200 Compact Cargo was released in April 2013. Year-to-date, Nissan has sold 945 NV200 compact cargo vans in Canada, a 127 per cent increase over this time period in 2013.

Nissan NV200 Compact Cargos are assembled in Cuernavaca, Mexico and available through a select network of certified Nissan Commercial Vehicle dealers nationwide.

The new vehicle limited warranty basic coverage excludes tires, and corrosion coverage. Other general exclusions and terms and conditions also apply.
