Tesla Motors is bringing a Model S Beta vehicle, the world’s first premium electric sedan, to Sherway Gardens this week in a bid to show consumers how easy it is to go 100 per cent electric.

Between low electricity rates, high gas prices, provincial grants for electric vehicles, and a growing public infrastructure of charging stations, Tesla says it is a great time for consumers who are looking for the ideal electric sedan.

Deliveries of the Model S will start next month in California with Canadian deliveries at the end of September. Purchasers of electric vehicles are eligible for a provincial rebate of $8,500 in Ontario ($8,000 in Quebec, $5,000  in BC).

The Model S has no internal combustion engine or transmission tunnel leaving room for class-leading cargo space, including a second “Frunk” (Front+trunk) under the hood. The centrepiece of the interior is a 17” touchscreen with wireless connectivity for streaming radio, web browsing and navigation.

After Toronto, Tesla’s pop-up store will move on to Calgary and Vancouver.
