Volvo has confirmed its popular V60 sports wagon would hit North American dealerships next year.
Doug Speck, Volvo Cars' senior V-P of marketing, sales and customer service, said in late March the V60 would make it to this side of the Atlantic in early 2014.
Pricing and specifications for the U.S. and Canada would be announced at a later date.
Volvo unveiled the V60 R-Design at the New York Auto Show. The model has a curvy and sculptured appearance marking a new design direction for the company.
“Many Canadian consumers have been asking us to bring this exciting sports wagon to the Volvo lineup and we listened,” explained Volvo Canada chief Marc Engelen.
Engelen said the target market for the V60 include customers who want the handling of a sports sedan but need the versatility of a wagon. While volume targets and MSRP info was not released, the Scandinavian automaker did note the V60’s level of “design and sophistication” is a sign of things to come.
Seating configuration allows rear seats to be folded down in three 40/20/40 segments, allowing its interior space to be configured for passengers and loaded in a flexible way.
