Canadian AutoWorld sets course north by northwest

The Canadian AutoWorld team routinely finds itself invited to some of the world's most beautiful places to drive the industry's latest and greatest vehicles.

While most of you see our editorial team at all the great conferences, conventions and expos on the trade side, our relationship with sister publications Carguide and World of Wheels means we also have our finger on the pulse of the consumer market, too.

Last year found us driving the new Honda Accord in California, behind the wheel of a Mercedes-Benz GLK as we wove through the French Alps, tearing up the track in Monterey in the Mazda CX-5 and sitting in on top tier supplier meetings at a massive business conference in Bangkok, Thailand, just to name a few.

With 2012 now in the books, 2013 seems to be starting the same way as Canadian AutoWorld is heading off on Monday for a northern adventure designed to show off the new Mercedes-Benz Sprinter.

The planned trip will have us fly to Edmonton, Alta. and drive more than 3,000 km to Anchorage, Alaska.

Said the automaker about the trip: “The carefully planned program will allow the opportunity to drive the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter on some of the most picturesque locations on this continent, and also under some of the harshest and most severe weather conditions on the planet.”

Canadian AutoWorld will be reporting all week from the Great White North, Internet access permitting. We will also do our best to stop in at a few dealerships along the way to find out about day-to-day dealership activities in the frozen tundra.

Be sure to check back to find out about our progress.
