Ford is hitting Canadian streets this month to demonstrate the versatility of the F150’s four new powertrains.
Called the Ford F150 Truck Round-up, the North American tour kicked off its Canadian leg on March 19 in Vancouver, B.C. It is scheduled to finish up in Halifax, N.S. at the end of April.
Tour stops act as consumer drive events designed to showcase Ford’s four new powertrains and to educate buyers on the advantages of Ford’s Eco-Boost 3.5 L DOHC V-6 engines.
The three station event – eco challenge/refinement drive, drag strip and towing challenge – pits Ford’s line-up against a similarly equipped Ram 5.7 L V-8 Hemi and Chevrolet’s 5.3 L V-8 Silverado.
Canadian AutoWorld caught up to the tour on April 14 at Mohawk Raceway in Milton, Ont. during media day and had the opportunity to put all of the trucks through their paces.
Dealers were scheduled to attend the following day.
Ford representatives confirmed that over 500 consumers had pre-registered to participate in the southern Ontario tour stop making it the largest event of the tour.
