There’s a new confidence at Kia Canada. The automaker boasted that its sales were up 61.1 percent in December – the best yuletide showing in Kia’s 10 years in Canada.
While others struggled, December also capped a record breaking sales successes, the automaker said. “Kia has worked very hard to transform customer perceptions of our brand with the result that Kia is now being recognized for its design excellence and quality,” said Kia Canada V-P Maria Soklis in a release.
So what better way to transform media perceptions than with a website media types can have all to themselves for booking test drives, a source for high res photos, logos, press releases and the like.
“We are the first OEM to pioneer this unique type of website,” Shelley Tavener, Kia Canada’s public relations manager told Canadian AutoWorld.
“It’s called Kia Media Connection.”
A click of a mouse gets a journalist access to press vehicles in each regional market, Tavener said.
“This will help us ensure optimal press fleet use and see how effectively are press fleet is being used.”
She added that the automaker had worked with a number of “key” journalists to make sure that the site had all the media-friendly features, with the exception of free lattes and biscotti.
The new site has attracted attention of other automakers, she said. “It’s a benchmark.”
