CarProof acquires Canadian Red Book

Canada’s vehicle history report company is growing again as CarProof has purchased Canadian Red Book for an undisclosed sum.

The deal became official on June 2. Subscribers to Red Book were notified of the deal the following week in a letter from company president Paul Antony.

“Canadian Red Book has been delivering Canadian-specific vehicle and truck valuations to meet the valuation needs of insurers, OEMs, banks, dealers and provinces for over 30 years,” the company wrote in its letter. “We are thrilled to be part of this long legacy and to be able to leverage the significant expertise that the Red Book team has acquired over the years.”

Exactly where CarProof goes from here was not revealed. The letter to subscribers from Antony said they would “further enhance Red Book.”

Canadian AutoWorld followed up with CarProof executives but was told it was too early to discuss exactly how the latest acquisition would fit into to the growing suite of dealer-facing products offered by the company.
