Improvements to Manheim’s online interface allow for greater efficiency


Manheim Canada recently revealed a number of improvements to that allow for more efficient searching, easier access to vehicle information and streamlined processes.

The auction said a key word search with autocomplete is now available on and model dropdown options have been updated. Dealers can also sort and filter by Manheim Market Report value.

“With regard to easier access to vehicle information, we've optimized the vehicle details pages and made the vehicle year, make and model more prominent,” explained Steve Haardeng, Manheim Canada's new digital manager. “Pan and zoom capabilities are enhanced and there is more space for high resolution photos.”

Haardeng said the goal with these latest updates is to let buyers  be more efficient when searching for vehicles. The aim is also to boost confidence with easier access to vehicle information by improving the vehicle details page and streamlining the OVE purchases by going to a one-step checkout process.

“Manheim is continuously looking for ways to enhance the customer experience,” he said. “Our research and development teams are dedicated to understanding industry trends and customer needs, and utilizing the most innovative technology.”

He added that as the automotive marketplace continues to evolve, it is important to recognize that there is no “one size fits all” solution for the way customers prefer to do business.

“Whether we are expanding the options, increasing efficiencies, or improving buyer confidence, we're always working to make it easier to buy and sell.”

The auction company said it has seen 19 per cent jump in digital business over the same period last year – a trend it expects to see continue.

“We've had 1,000 app downloads in the first quarter of 2014 with vehicles being purchased on both the Android and Apple mobile platforms,” he said. “In the same period we've had 157,000 Canada customers visit, averaging over 750 visits daily.”
