Honda CR-Z gone from Canadian market

Honda Canada is pulling the plug on the CR-Z. The last of the compact, hybrid, gasoline-electric hatchbacks will be on sale in 2017.

Sales of the two-seater  had fallen off the radar.

The sport hybrid coupe made its debut in 2011 with only 517 sold. It was downhill from there: Canadian AutoWorld 2015 Sales By Segment figures showed total sales at zero, with only 1,324 sold in all, according to CTV News.

What the automaker called the “edgier, more chiseled look … and sporty spirit” of the 2016 model did not attract buyers here.

Honda Canada rep Maki Inoue told CTV News the automaker would add a new Accord Hybrid to its lineup.
